Mileena wore a tight bodysuit (and mask), with her uniform being colored in shades of magenta. Later on, her costumes changed, some of them rather loose, but usually more revealing than Kitana’s. In terms of physical features, she is identical to Kitana except her face, as her visage is twisted by the Tarkatan DNA flowing in her veins, giving her a large mouth rimmed with long, sharp teeth.
Mileena cosplay from Mortal Kombat
At 2011 comic con, there is a wonderful Mileena cosplay by Rosanna Rocha. Here is the review of Mileena cosplay.
1. How would you describe your costume?
I’m Mileena from Mortal Kombat. Basically I took a bathing suit and covered it in fabric. It took three weeks to sew. I just used a bathing suit as a pattern and sewed it from that.
2. Why did you choose to dress as this character?
The new Mortal Kombat game came out, and I really liked it. Also, the movie’s coming out so I was like, I should do a Mortal Kombat costume. Mileena’s my favorite girl, because she’s crazy.
3. What do your friends and family thinks of you dressing up for Comic-Con?
Oh, they’re all really supportive. My mom helped me buy all the fabric, and my friend is a fashion designer and she helped me sew some of it. They’re all like, ‘You’re hot, do it!’ And I like to do stuff like this all the time.
4. How much did your costume cost you to make?
Well, I have the boots. Those were $30 just by themselves. But the fabric was pretty cheap — it was only like $9.99 a yard, and it’s a tiny costume so I only used two yards of that. It was more the time spent making it than the money.
5. Is this your first time cosplaying?
Yeah, it’s the first time I’ve been to Comic-Con. It’s really fun! There’s a lot of waiting involved, a lot of lines for the panels and stuff. But it’s very exciting.
